The following chronological list includes existing plucked-string tablatures from 1700-1799, as well as sources known to have existed that are now lost. Continuo sources with plucked string will be listed separately, unless they contain actual tablature. Many of the later sources use staff notation and are for the "English guitar," actually a type of cittern. Where possible, I have designated the works for this instrument; some of these assignments are at present merely educated guesses.
Note that many later 18th-century sources are undated and that the editors of the RISM series do not generally give approximate ("c" or "circa") dating. For these works, approximate dates were verified from the following sources, given as an abbreviation in brackets after the publication information:

Dates followed by a question mark are my own educated guess. Definite dates (i.e., without the "c") are from RISM unless otherwise noted.
The names of places have been given their modern English equivalent, for consistency, and the modern political names of the countries in which these cities are located have been added in brackets. For manuscript sources, "RISM B/VII" refers to Wolfgang Boetticher, Handschriftlich Überlieferte Lauten- und Gitarrentabulaturen des 15. bis 18. Jahrhunderts (Munich: G. Henle, 1978). Other manuscripts have been added from a variety of more recent sources. Printed sources were found in the RISM A and B series, The New Grove Dictionary of Music & Musicians (2000 ed.), and a wide variety of other sources and original research.
